As of today, COVID-19 vaccines are being offered to Texans aged 16 and up. I write to you with quick tips and contact information to help make sure you can find a provider.
Vaccination efforts are well underway across our community here in Harris County, with more than 1 million COVID-19 vaccine doses administered and more than 12 percent of the population fully vaccinated. Across our state, Texas has administered 10 million vaccine doses, with 12 percent of the population fully vaccinated.
As a member of the Health Subcommittee on the House of Representatives Committee on Energy and Commerce, I was proud to work on the American Rescue Plan—and to work specifically on the provision that established a national COVID-19 vaccination program. The American Rescue Plan, which was signed into law recently, provides more than $20 billion to improve the administration and distribution of vaccines across our country. This funding is critical to increasing the amount of doses available to our community and helping end the pandemic.
