Retirement Benefits, Disability Benefits, Disability Appeals, and more

Thank you for contacting my office regarding your request for assistance with the Social Security Administration (SSA). 

If you wish to apply for retirement benefits, you may do so online through the Social Security Administration's Retirement Benefits page.  There, you can check your eligibility for benefits, calculate your benefit amount, and complete the benefits application.  If you already have an open application, you can also check the status of your case through this portal. 

If you wish to apply for disability benefits, you may do so online through the Social Security Administration's Disability Benefits page.  Due to the large volume of applications, it may take some time to receive a decision.  If you wish to apply for Supplemental Security Income (SSI), you can do so on this page.  If you need to appeal a decision, you can file an appeal or learn more about Social Security's definition of a "disability" online at the SSA's appeals page. 

If you have questions about any of these processes, you may contact the SSA at 800-772-1213.  An agent can help you find your local office, send you the appropriate forms, and answer your questions.
