Houston,
May 26, 2021
Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher (TX-07) and Representative Jon Rosenthal (HD-135) hosted a virtual town hall to provide an update on the first 100 days of 2021. The Representatives provided an overview of legislation that has passed the House of Representatives and that is moving forward in the Texas Legislature. They also touched on the Texas General Land Office’s decision to exclude the City of Houston and Harris County from receiving federal Hurricane Harvey relief funding and answered constituent questions on a range of topics, including federal resources allocated through the American Rescue Plan, veterans affairs, and gun safety. “I was glad to join Representative Jon Rosenthal to provide an update on what has been an eventful start to our second terms in both Congress and the Texas Legislature,” said Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher. “We were able to share information about important legislation moving at both the federal and state level that affects people across our communities, and we were glad to answer thoughtful questions from members of our community.” “I’m grateful for the opportunity to work together with Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher. I’m thankful for her advocacy and partnership, especially in the areas where we can coordinate our efforts at the State and Federal levels for the benefit of all our constituents,” said Representative Jon Rosenthal. “Monday night, we engaged with our communities for an update on legislative issues in Washington DC and Austin to answer questions and hear constituents’ voices. It was a good forum, and I'm looking forward to more opportunities to engage together - hopefully in person soon.” You can watch the representatives’ opening remarks here. |
