Earlier this week, Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher (TX-07) led a Special Order Hour celebrating women of the reproductive rights movement where she highlighted Sarah Weddington, the trailblazing Texas lawyer who challenged Texas’ abortion law in the case of Roe v. Wade.

Congresswoman Fletcher was joined by Reps. Haley Stevens (MI-11), Annie Kuster (NH-02), Kathy Manning (NC-06), Lois Frankel (FL-21), Marc Veasey (TX-33), and Al Green (TX-09) during the Special Order Hour.  Rep. Judy Chu (CA-27) also shared a statement for the record during the special order.

“I thank my colleagues for joining me and highlighting some of the many women leaders in our communities and in our country who have worked to ensure reproductive rights, health, and justice,” said Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher.  “I am proud that Texas women have done such important work to ensure the health, privacy, dignity, equality, and freedom of women and families across this country through these efforts.  And as we face new challenges to our rights at home and across the country, we must continue the work.  We will not go back.”
