U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs

Claim Status, Educational Benefits, Medical Care at VA Facilities, and more

Thank you for contacting my office regarding your request for assistance from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Our veterans have made sacrifices to serve our country, and it is our duty to ensure that when they return home, they have the resources and benefits they have earned and deserve as they transition back to civilian life.

The Harris County Veterans Services Office can help local veterans and their families establish their right to any privilege, preference, care, or compensation provided by the laws of the United States or the State of Texas.

For federal services such as VA benefits, health care, memorials, and other special veteran programs, please visit VA.gov.  If you have records-related issues, such as requesting a replacement for lost medals or copies of your military service records, you may contact the National Personnel Records Center.  If you have contacted the National Personnel Records Center and they are unresponsive, please reach out to my office for further assistance.

If you or a family member are a veteran and require assistance from a federal agency, my office can help with the status of a claim, payment of education benefits, medical care at VA facilities, or other issues.  Below is a link to a Privacy Release Form, which authorizes my office to make a congressional inquiry on your behalf.  Please complete the form to proceed with your inquiry and upload any supporting documentation where applicable.

If you have any further questions or if this is a time-sensitive matter, please do not hesitate to contact my office at (713) 353-8680.
