Winter Storm Fern Resources

With a winter storm watch in effect for the Houston area beginning on Saturday, I want to make sure that you are prepared.  Team TX-07 and I have compiled the resources below to help ensure you and your loved ones are ready.

Now is the time to prepare to protect the critical 4 P’s: Make sure to have a plan for your loved ones, neighbors, and the elderly (People), ensure Pets are protected, Pipes are wrapped, and Plants are cared for.

Ensure you have everything you need to be comfortable and safe during the weather event, including:

  • Adequate food, water, and medications;
  • Check heaters and follow all safety guidelines for space heaters, Carbon Monoxide monitoring, and fire prevention;
  • Charge devices and portable chargers.  While ERCOT is not expecting mass power outages, it is always smart to be ready for any scenario; and
  • Keep warm clothing and blankets on hand.
