Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher Announces Two Grants for Arts Projects to Benefit Texas’ Seventh Congressional District

Today, Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher (TX-07) announced the Aurora Picture Show and the Young Audiences, Inc. of Houston have been awarded $65,000 in combined grants through the National Endowment for the Arts’ program, Grants for Arts Projects. “The arts are a powerful and important part of our community, inspiring and uniting us, and I am glad to announce this new funding for Houston artists and organizations,” said Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher. “This investment will elevate local artists by encouraging projects and celebrating our community’s creativity.” “Aurora Picture Show is grateful for the NEA’s continued support of the cultural vibrancy of our community as well as their investment in the region’s creative economy,” said Sarah Stauder, Executive Director of Aurora Picture Show. “Receiving this grant will allow Aurora Picture Show to continue to offer local audiences of all ages access to some of the best moving image art being created today through diverse and accessible programming." “Young Audiences of Houston is grateful for the support of the National Endowment for the Arts,” said Mary Curry Mettenbring, Executive Director of Young Audiences, Inc. of Houston. “The Neighborhoods, Identity, and Diversity project will support community-based artists as they provide arts programming to youth and families across 10 Complete Communities.
