Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher Hosts Town Hall on Annual Houston Area Survey

  • 8.18 Houston Area Survey

Houston, TX—Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher (TX-07) hosted a town hall on the Houston Area Survey, an annual survey conducted by the Kinder Institute at Rice University that measures the changes in the attitudes, beliefs, and experiences of Harris County residents.  The event featured Dr. Stephen Klineberg, Founding Director of the Kinder Institute for Urban Research.

“The Houston Area Survey has long been an indicator of Houston area residents’ hopes, dreams, and overall experiences, collecting important data about our community,” said Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher.  “I was delighted to hear Dr. Klineberg share this year’s survey responses and a long-term view of our community – where we have been and where we are going.  I am grateful for his work for our community and for the time he spent with TX-07 residents.  His insights are important for all of us in this diverse and dynamic city.”

“I was delighted to be able to join with Congresswoman Fletcher to explore the way the views of Houston residents have been changing in response to the economic inequalities and the demographic transformations of our time,” said Dr. Stephen Klineberg.  “No other city has been tracked in this way over so many years, and few more clearly reflect the trends that are refashioning the social and political landscape across America.”
