Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher Celebrates Announcement of $200 Million Grant for Company in Texas’ Seventh Congressional District To Decarbonize Energy

Today, Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher (TX-07) celebrated the Biden administration’s announcement that it will award $200 million to T.EN Stone & Webster Process Technology, Inc. to decarbonize ethanol. 

“I am thrilled that the Biden administration will award $200 million to decarbonize ethanol to T.EN Stone & Webster Process Technology, Inc. in Texas’ Seventh Congressional District,” said Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher.  “This investment, which is part of the largest investment in industrial decarbonization in U.S. history, will help lower emissions, strengthen our economy, and ensure our energy independence.  I was glad to vote for both the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and the Inflation Reduction Act, transformative pieces of legislation that have made this award possible Houston and Houstonians will lead the way to our energy future, and I am glad to support collaborative efforts like these.”

In 2021, Congresswoman Fletcher voted for the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and in 2022, she voted for the Inflation Reduction Act.  Both of these bills helped fund the U.S. Department of Energy’s Industrial Demonstrations Program to support the advancement of transformational technologies necessary to decarbonize the U.S. industrial sector.  The funding announced today stems from the Industrial Demonstrations Program.
