Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher Releases 2024 Annual Report for Texas’ Seventh Congressional District

Today, Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher (TX-07) released her 2024 Annual Report detailing her work representing Texas’ Seventh Congressional District this year.  The report highlights some of Congresswoman Fletcher’s work on legislation, events in the district, and constituent matters in 2024.

“I am honored and proud to represent Texas’ Seventh Congressional District, and to bring the voices of those who live and work here to the national conversation about the challenges and opportunities before us,” said Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher.  “I am glad to share some of the highlights of this work in my 2024 Annual Report, and I look forward to continuing my work for our community and our country in the year ahead.” 

Highlights of the 2024 Annual Report include:

  • Legislation: Congresswoman Fletcher has introduced several bills in the House of Representatives this year, including:
    • the Pink Tariffs Study Act, H.R. 7927, to require the U.S. Department of Treasury to conduct a study on potential gender bias within the U.S. tariff system;
    • the Heirs Empowerment and Inheritance Rights (HEIR) Act, H.R. 8117, to allow heirs’ property owners to use alternate forms of documentation to prove property ownership to receive disaster aid; and
    • the LNG Coordination Act of 2024, H.R.7556, to establish a working group to improve the safety of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) facilities and to make federal oversight of LNG facilities more efficient.
  • Constituent Advocacy: This year, Congresswoman Fletcher’s office resolved more than 2,000 constituent matters before federal agencies, and reached the milestone of resolving more than 15,000 constituent matters since she assumed office in 2019.
  • Community Funded Projects: The Community Funded Projects process in Congress allows members of Congress to request funding for specific projects in their districts through a transparent process.  Congresswoman Fletcher secured nearly $16 million in project funds this year.  These include:
    • $5,782,558 for the Southwest Houston Redevelopment Authority’s Southwest Community Campus for redevelopment of a community senior center, expanding the existing facility and laying the groundwork for future work that promotes health and resiliency;
    • $1,000,000 for renovations to the City of Houston Metropolitan Multiservice Center for People with Disabilities on West Gray;
    • $963,000 for the City of Houston Forensic Science Center’s Forensic Evidence Data System to meet the volume of requests for evidence analysis and to improve the collection, tracking, management, and processing of forensic evidence through the criminal justice system.
