Today, Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher (TX-07) released the following statement following the death of His Highness Prince Karim Al-Hussaini, the Aga Khan IV:

“I join people across our community and around the world in celebrating the life and mourning the loss of His Highness Aga Khan IV, who dedicated his life to service to others.  Texas’ Seventh Congressional District is the proud home of the Ismaili Jamatkhana and Center in Sugar Land and the new Ismaili Center near Downtown Houston—the first Ismaili Center in the United States—both beacons of peace, community, humility, and reflection, embodying the values that the Aga Khan modeled throughout his life.  My thoughts are with all those mourning his death today, and my hope is that the Aga Khan’s legacy of compassion and service will continue to inspire us all for generations to come.”
