Washington,
June 30, 2025
In honor of Pride Month, Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher (TX-07) visited the Montrose Center, Tony’s Place, and Native Citizen in honor of Pride Month. Congresswoman Fletcher toured Native Citizen with the Greater Houston LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce, marking her fourth annual business visit with the Chamber. “I am so proud to represent the diverse and dynamic LGBTQI+ community across Texas’ Seventh Congressional District—from its longtime heart in Houston’s Montrose neighborhood to every corner of the district,” said Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher. “Visiting places like the Montrose Center, Tony’s Place, and Native Citizen is an important reminder of how vital LGBTQI+-run spaces are to Houston’s culture, resilience, and progress. Whether it’s providing safety and support for LGBTQI+ youth or creating inclusive spaces where everyone can gather, these establishments embody the spirit of Pride year-round. I look forward to continuing to support people and policies that protect and strengthen our LGBTQI+ community—this Pride Month and every month.” Congresswoman Fletcher is a Vice Chair of the Congressional Equality Caucus. The Equality Caucus works toward the extension of equal rights, the repeal of discriminatory laws, the elimination of hate-motivated violence, and the improved health and well-being for LGBTQI+ individuals. In every Congress since she was first elected, Congresswoman Fletcher has cosponsored the Equality Act to protect LGBTQI+ individuals from discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity. |
