Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher Announces Congressional App Challenge Winners for Texas’ Seventh Congressional District
Washington,
December 11, 2025
This week, Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher (TX-07) announced Vidya Ganesh and Scarlett Yu as the winners of the 2025 Congressional App Challenge. Vidya and Scarlett’s app, TuneIn, is an AI-powered hearing assistance tool. “I am so impressed with the creative talents of our young neighbors,” said Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher. “Vidya and Scarlett’s TuneIn app is an example of how creative minds can leverage new technology to make life easier for our neighbors. Their enthusiasm and resourcefulness are so inspiring. I congratulate them on this accomplishment and look forward to seeing what they do next!” TuneIn uses a machine learning model to make speech clearer, reduce unwanted background noise, and alert users to sounds they might otherwise miss, offering many of the benefits of a hearing aid through technology people already own. Vidya and Scarlett are TX-07 residents and students at Clements High School, part of Fort Bend Independent School District in Sugar Land. The Congressional App Challenge is an annual competition that is open to middle and high school students in congressional districts across the country.
