(Houston, TX) – Today, Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher (TX-07) issued the following statement after the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) included the state of Texas in its Economic Injury Disaster Declaration, which grants access to its Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) program that provides long-term, low-interest loans to small businesses:
“Small businesses are vital drivers of our economy. That is why, earlier this week, I joined my colleague Sheila Jackson Lee in a letter requesting the administration declare an economic disaster in Texas,” said Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher. “I am glad the U.S. Small Business Administration has finally approved this request to allow small businesses in my district and across our state to have access to federal funding that they will need as we face the COVID-19 pandemic together.” Earlier this week, Congresswoman Fletcher joined her colleague, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee (TX-18), to call on the President to allow Texas to declare an Economic Injury Disaster. |
