Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher Honored by U.S. Chamber of Commerce with Spirit of Enterprise Award

Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher (TX-07) has been awarded the Spirit of Enterprise Award from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.  This recognition honors the members of Congress who support “pro-business legislation, bipartisan leadership, and constructive governing.”

“Our community in Houston thrives on partnership, and I have been glad to partner with business leaders across our community, and with my colleagues across the aisle in Congress, to advance pro-growth policies that benefit those who live and work in our community,” said Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher.  “I am honored to receive the Spirit of Enterprise Award from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in recognition of these efforts, and I will continue to work across the aisle to champion policies that create good jobs, promote entrepreneurship, and grow our economy.”

“In these uncertain times with daunting economic and social challenges facing our nation, it is imperative that leaders in Washington are focused on propelling American businesses forward to create jobs and economic growth from California to Maine,” said CEO of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Thomas J. Donohue.  “As we rebuild our economy, legislators must lead by pursuing bipartisan solutions that create jobs and promote a free enterprise system.”

The Spirit of Enterprise Award is given annually to Members of Congress based on rankings the U.S. Chamber gives for key pro-free enterprise, pro-economic growth, and pro-jobs votes.  This is the second award Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher received from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.  She also received the Abraham Lincoln Leadership for America Award, which honors the top 20 members of the House of Representatives and top 10 Senators who have demonstrated bipartisan leadership critical to advancing policies that support America’s free enterprise system.
